Greendawn reconfigured the ground floor extension to our house in Ealing. This involved a new cloakroom, a new laundry / utility room and a space for a larger fridge / freezer. There were also two external door replacements, four window replacements, one completely new window and changing a flat roof for a pitched one plus all the associated plumbing, tiling and electrical work. Firstly we liked the care taken with the estimating and quoting for the work. This enabled us to fine tune what we wanted and avoid the risk of misunderstandings later. Generally the job admin and paper work was very good. They were fair with progress payment timing and we could clearly see what we were paying for. Secondly we liked the way Greendawn staff tackled the job. They worked carefully, did not take shortcuts, were cheerful and fitted in well with the timing of external suppliers (eg for the windows and doors). They also had imaginative and practical solutions when the architect's drawings clashed with reality. Easy to communicate with. And finally they willingly dealt with snagging. Loft Extension in Chiswick W4
We engaged Green Dawn Build to compete on a quote for a loft conversion job in Chiswick.
It became apparent early on that Green Dawn Build approached this job in a very professional way, yet also demonstrated understanding about how important this was to us, and the impact the additional space would have once completed.
We started the work on time in September 2017, with Green Dawn Build having reached out to neighbours etc to make sure disruption was minimised for everyone.
The work carried on for approximately 3 1/2 months, and the end result is simply amazing. We added two bedrooms, one with an en suite, a new roof and more storage than we can ever fill (we’ve even been able to close our account at Big Yellow!).
We also added a new roof, which wasn’t planned. This was particularly impressive as it was only apparent once the work started that the existing roof structure wasn’t up to the job. It did cost us more than we’d planned, but we got a lot of roof for our money, and Green Dawn helped us keep costs down as much as possible. In addition to all this its worth mentioning that Green Dawn Build helped also us with all the planning requirements, even though we didn’t use their planning services. They offered advice, gave us sample materials to submit, and even wrote to the planning officers on our behalf when needed.
All in all I can’t recommend Green Dawn build highly enough – they took all the pain out of this job for us and we are so happy we chose them.

Full refurbishment of studio flat in Ealing W13
In early 2013 we commissioned Greendawn Build to undertake a complete renovation of a studio flat we purchased in Clivedon Court, Ealing W13 8DP which had been built in the 1960s and had not been modernised. The renovation included new bathroom, new kitchen, complete replastering, painting, electrics, plumbing, floor sanding and bespoke joinery.
Heath helped us select the appropriate fixtures, fittings and appliances for the bathroom and kitchen using tried and tested suppliers in the area who stocked a wide range of goods. The work was completed on time and on budget to an excellent standard and we are absolutely delighted with the result. Heath was readily available to discuss matters related to the building works and able to offer expert advice on any unexpected issues and we very much felt that the work was more than just “another job” as he was able to offer a personalised service.
In addition the rest of the team working on the job showed care, consideration and high level of craftsmanship which was very reassuring. We would highly recommend Greendawn Build for any building work to be carried out.

Design and Build Loft Extension in Ealing W13
In 2015, we approached Greendawn Build and one other local building firm to quote for work on the loft and refurbishment of the first floor in our 1903 house. We wanted something special and different: a new loft room with a fresh, more modern style, whilst preserving the Edwardian character of the property. In addition, we were keen to reuse existing materials and employ sustainable new ones.
From the very outset, we could see that Greendawn Build were the people for us. Heath, the managing director, came round to look at the house and discuss our plans in detail, and it was absolutely clear that he would be able to offer us a very individual and personalised service. We have not been disappointed!
The work was carried out in the first half of 2016. This included constructing the loft space, reroofing, rebuilding the chimney stacks, making an ensuite bathroom, replacing first floor ceilings and cornices, refitting the first floor bathroom, and redecorating. This was completed, at every step of the way, to a higher standard than we could have imagined. The loft itself is beautifully constructed (the tiling and brick work are a work of art) and the interior carpentry and decoration is perfect. The new solid oak staircase leading up to the loft is a particularly attractive feature.
Three factors have made working with Greendawn a very successful experience for us:
- Heath’s leadership and communication skills: it was very rewarding to work with Heath. He made the whole process completely transparent for us, including the initial planning stage, timetabling, and pricing of individual tasks. He also scheduled in regular weekly meetings to discuss progress and was very good in communicating with our neighbours to allay any potential concerns.
- The Greendawn team: we really enjoyed working with everyone on the team. Apart from their excellent building skills, we appreciated their hard work, punctuality, reliability, friendliness, politeness, and attention to detail. It was clear that they wanted to do a first-class job and would go to any lengths to achieve that. We miss them all!
- The outstanding quality of the build: we now have a beautifully crafted new room which we’ll be using as an office, library and sitting room, and for overnight guests. It’s a space we’ll live in and really enjoy.
